Lesson learned from transaction regarding heavy equipment

Read and grow rich. Learn and earn

There was this heavy equipment  salesman whom I knew from several years back   We have not done any business yet but we text and we meet occasionally   He had string of bad luck:   his wife just died,  and his son whom I learned was bumped by vehicle on the way to school, recovered by eventually died.

Lately his town was submerged in the flood (upper Eastern Rizal town)   And so we visited the principals yard, we met with the son of the owner.  But our conversation, after we dragged our asses to their site was Ï will tell this to my Dad" The agen said we could have closed the deal and what was standing between us were price and the terms.

During the last two weeks, we hewed and hawed regarding a meeting to close the I will tell it to my Dad story. We reset on Aug 21, but he said it was a holiday.  We reset tomorrow, but he said he is coming alone and again  and they are no longer selling by installment   it will be endless back and forth  conversation  So we just cancelled the meeting and maybe the deal.  The agent kept on saying he is not salaried

Lesson learned:
1  The top guy must support his agents;  and so with the agent who is not employed and lacks ownership of the product he is selling;

2.  Whether you are the son or agent, you must convey certainity;

3.  The hew hawing on meeting date, appearance and non appearance on meeting conveys trust and distrust and which lead not lead into closing of sales.
